“SEE THRU THE END” SERIES

As a painter I’ve always struggled to achieve space and depth, conquer light and shadow, master perspective. Amusing, almost, that living in a perfectly 3-D world, I would invest so much effort to re create that which already surrounds us. So it was no surprise to finally understand that it was “SPACE” itself that which I seek to understand and master. The creation of my installations is nothing but the natural evolution of my creative process. From within my pieces I now see light and shadow, volume and perspective, and all the facets of the 3-D that I struggled to emulate thru painting.
Most of my installations, such as the series: “See Thru the End”, are orderly arrangements of a multitude of repeated parts, in any which way, number or form as the specific site dictates. Like a virus, the conditions determine size and numbers, in the struggle to achieve perfect adaptability and survival. In most instances, the needs of each specific site, may affect size and shape but do not compromise the true nature of the initial inspiration and integrity of the pieces. The ultimate sum of the connected parts, shapes, color and shadows, combined with the physical experience of traveling thru the space occupied by the sculptural installations, complete the artist and viewers experience.
